My Facebook post tonight was: “a loving God would never Rapture during the NHL playoffs”.
Glad we are still around for the Sunday game between the Vancouver Canucks and the San Jose Sharks. When are brainwashed Christians going to wake up, smell the coffee and dig into the text of God’s word and get some spiritual knowledge? I am writing this 4 hours after the May 21, 2011, 6pm end of the world deadline. I write this in sympathy for those whose faith has been challenged.
I’ve not been able to verify any true “Rapture” doctrine in God’s word and I think Christians have to stop looking for the easy way out. Thinking that they are better than everyone else, and have a “get-out-of-jail-free” card because they have prayed the “Sinners Prayer” is just plain goofy. You are right on, Colin! Years ago I was reading Paul’s writing on the resurrection and was caught by the words, “at the LAST TRUMP”. My mind jumped to Revelation, and I immediately read the scriptures on the 7 trumpets. Sure enough, just as the 7th one sounds, the resurrection occurs. There is a lot of stuff to come down the pike before that last trumpet. If we are ready, if we are wise virgins, we will be kept through the terrible times ahead, and Psalm 91 is our comfort and assurance that God will look after us.
